Where does the tour take place?

The tour takes place throughout the Berkeley Springs area of West Virginia, with artists welcoming visitors at multiple studio stops. The Ice House serves as a central hub for the tour.

How long does this driving Tour take?

You can enjoy part of the tour in a few hours, but we encourage visitors to make a weekend of it. Take your time exploring the studios, enjoy the beautiful fall scenery, have dinner in town, and experience Berkeley Springs.
Some studios are 15-20 minutes apart. You need to allow time between stops while you enjoy the scenery.

Is the Studio Tour free?

Yes. The Berkeley Springs Studio Tour is free and open to the public.

Do I need tickets or reservations?

No. You do not need tickets or reservations. Simply choose the studios you would like to visit and create your own route.

Where do I start the tour?

You can begin at any participating studio. If this is your first visit, the Ice House is a convenient place to start, pick up information, and plan your route.

Do I have to visit every studio?

Not at all! The tour is completely self-guided. Visit as many—or as few—studios as you like and spend as much time as you wish at each stop.

What kinds of art will I see?

Visitors will discover a wide range of work, including jewelry, pottery, weaving and fiber art, quilts, painting, printmaking, woodworking, mobiles, clothing, home decor, and more.

Will I get to see artists working?

Yes. One of the special things about a studio tour is the opportunity to meet artists where they create, learn about their techniques and inspiration, and see demonstrations at selected locations.

Can I purchase artwork during the tour?

Absolutely. Original artwork will be available for purchase directly from participating artists. It is a wonderful opportunity to find one-of-a-kind pieces while supporting local and regional artists.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Families are welcome. Because the tour includes working artists’ studios, children should remain with an adult and be supervised around artwork, tools, and equipment.

Are the studios accessible?

Accessibility varies by studio location. We recommend checking the individual studio information before your visit if you have specific accessibility needs.

What happens if it rains?

The tour takes place rain or shine. Most of the art viewing and demonstrations are indoors, so don’t let a little October weather stop you.
